CareerXroads® Colloquium - Winter 2010 Event

Dates: March 9-10
Location: Charlotte hosted by Bank of America and Time Warner Cable

Discussion Topics

Our lead topic for this Colloquium will be Metrics and Workforce Planning. Detailed discussion points as determined by member vote are below.

  • Adjusting to Measure What Counts: As a Recruiter, what one or two (at most three) numbers would you want your leaders to collect about your performance on filling each and every position (and then reward when the number is met)? As a Staffing Leader, If you could only collect one or two measures of the staffing function to tell you (no one else) how well your entire team is functioning what would that be? Finally, as a Talent Management Leader, what single monthly metric should your C-Level review to accurately judge your performance? Will you measure something different in 2010 than you did in 2009?
  • Bring one metric that you are using for the first time. Why was it chosen? What impact has it made on your corporation?
  • Show and Tell: Service Level Agreements 2009 How did you do? Best practices, results and wish lists for 2010.
  • Workforce Planning: Myth or Legend If you do not have it, what 10 things can you do in 2010 to move forward anyway? What three things can you do to convince management that you need to take workforce planning seriously? Pat Chadbourne (formerly of Bank of America and Wachovia) an old friend of ours who we consider one of our country's experts in this field will be presenting.
  • Silver Bullets: Will we ever demonstrate a connection between candidate experience, employee engagement and corporate performance?
  • Connecting Performance and Compensation How should recruiter performance, recruiter compensation and performance bonuses be connected?

As is our practice at CareerXroads Colloquium events we ask all attendees to bring “what keeps them up at night” in their recruiting organizations so we can help each other solve those issues. After all, it's the caliber of our group that makes each session unique and provides that Aha! moment you'll take back to your office.
